A clear film that is washed like paint will outlast one that is washed like vinyl. The difference is what is in the bucket.
No washing, no rain if you can avoid it, no wax. The adhesive is still wetting out.
pH-neutral shampoo, clean mitt, top down. Rinse the panel before the mitt touches it — grit dragged across a film is grit dragged across paint.
Keep the nozzle 30 cm off the surface and never point it at an edge. A pressure washer at an edge will lift any film made.
No wax, no polish, no abrasive compound, no petroleum distillate. On matte film, no wax at all — it fills the texture and dries patchy.
Remove within a day. Warm water and a soft cloth. On matte film, do not scrub: blot.
Heat-repair film needs 60 °C. Park it in the sun or use a heat gun at a distance. Instant-repair film closes on contact and needs nothing.
